Grace
Happens.

Wicker Park Grace is a welcoming community which seeks to grow in spirit, mind, and heart. Our community is centered in a generous and dynamic Christianity.

Not everyone who participates in Wicker Park Grace events is a Christian, or considers themselves a follower of Jesus, and that's okay with us.

At the same time, some of us are on a journey of deepening our spiritual practices rooted in Christian tradition and following the teachings of Jesus. Read about individuals' journeys in the Community Life section.

You'll see signs of this quest in most of our events, and some activities will be more deeply grounded in Christian practices.

Please feel welcome to participate in which ever events feel most comfortable and which resonate most deeply with you.

Bible 101

Bible 101
taught by Sarah Ross

All the basics! (Taking what we bagan on Sunday nights to the next level.)

  • Taking on the "clobber passages"--how to respond when people use the bible as a weapon
  • What is the nature of God in the bible? Wrathful? Loving? How do we deal with what we find there?
  • Who wrote the bible & why does it include the books it does?
  • How can we find spiritual depth and meaning in the bible?
  • What are good translations? Suggested study guides?
  • Why are Catholic bibles different from Protestant bibles?

The class will be responsive to the interests of the people who attend. What do you want to better understand?
